What felt like a century ago you were in my bedroom
The clothes were all over the blue rug and it was a mess
You whispered to my ear, and you said something...
...which I'll keep it to myself.
You bought me roses
Which is perhaps cliche and albeit boring
And you put this CD in the player
Forever the song of ours.
Midnight dancing in the bedroom,
Facing the big painting in the wall
I looked into your eyes and it wasn't glowing
Like it did before.
Then, the phone rang
Ring-ring-ring!
Who is it, I asked
it was 3 AM anyway.
I have never seen that look on your face before,
You were afraid and I didn't know why.
You hesitated, then told me it was no one important,
as you hung up the phone.
I went to the bathroom, and when I came back
I saw you furiously texting.
I asked you a question.
You deliberately didn't answer.
You took your sweet time only to say
It's Nate, let's go to sleep.
That
was the first night we didn't sleep
The first day I didn't hug you in bed.
I didn't yell, I didn't ask
And you wouldn't hear me
as my tears went down.
